Jennifer Lee is an American film writer and director with a net worth of $12 million. She is known for being the first female director of a Walt Disney Animation Studios feature film, as well as the first female director to earn at least $1 billion in gross box office revenue for a feature film.
Born in East Providence, Rhode Island in 1971, Lee graduated from the University of New Hampshire and Columbia University School of the Arts. She started her career as a producer and assistant director for the short film “A Thousand Words” in 2004.
Lee’s breakthrough success came with the 2013 film “Frozen,” which she wrote, co-directed, and voiced a character in. The film went on to earn over $1.2 billion at the box office and won Lee an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year in 2014. She also wrote and co-directed the 2015 short “Frozen Fever” and the 2019 feature “Frozen II.”
Aside from her work on the “Frozen” franchise, Lee also wrote the screenplay for the 2018 film “A Wrinkle in Time.”
